7- I can't believe this

Suhani'Pov

After 30 minutes

"Dr. Ishita, I have to board the flight to Udaipur. Can you please take care of the patients until I come back?" I called Dr. Ishita. She was a good friend and had visited the patients with me a couple of times, so I trusted her.

"No problem, Dr. Suhani! I would love to look after them" she replied on the other end. I smiled, feeling relieved.

"Thanks, Ishita. You don't know how worried I was for them" I said as I parked the car in front of my house.

"Don't thank me, Suhani and I'd be more than happy to help you out. Okay, you must be getting late. I'll talk to you later, alright?" she said. I grabbed my purse, stethoscope, and some important files from the back seat of the car.

"Oh yeah, I'll definitely call whenever I get free time" I said as I unlocked the door.

"Okay, bye! Have a safe flight" she said.

" Thanks once again , bye " I replied and she hung up the call , I entered the house hurriedly and went up straight to my Room

" Oh God , I've so much work to do " I murmured under my breath as I started packing my stuff

                         After 15 minutes

"Finally, done" I murmured as I packed my things, including my parents' photo frame. I quickly ran to the bathroom for a quick shower.

After bathing, I slipped into my beige kurta, put on my watch and accessories, and wore my sandals. I combed my hair and finished off with my daily perfume.

"Oh, I forgot this!" I said to myself, applying a peach-colored lip tint and kohl to my eyes.

"Done." I looked at my reflection in the mirror, then grabbed my files, stethoscope, coat, purse, and bag.

I locked my room door and headed downstairs. I switched off the lights and secured the house.

"I'll miss you, my sweet home" I murmured, taking one last look before sitting in my car.

"Sona, everyone has reached here, where are you?" Krish called just as I started the engine.

"I'm on my way, Krish. I'll be there in 30 minutes" I replied, driving faster as he said okay and hung up.

 30 minutes later

I parked my car in the lot, grabbed my things and luggage, and hurried into the hospital.

"Dr. Suhani, you finally made it! Come!" Dr. Raghav exclaimed upon seeing me. He took my luggage, and we headed toward the other team members. There were five of us in total, and I recognized Dr. Raghav, Krish, and  Ahana.

"Dr. Suhani, meet Dr. Kavish Mishra and Dr. Aditi Bhatia" Dr. Raghav introduced. We all shook hands and exchanged smiles.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Suhani" Dr. Aditi said, and Dr. Mishra nodded in agreement.

"No, the pleasure is mine. I'm honored to meet people like you" I replied sincerely.

"Please, sign here, ma'am" Sister Asha interrupted, drawing my attention. I excused myself, took the file, signed it, and handed it back to her with a smile. She smiled back and walked away.

"Alright, everyone, let's go. We need to board the flight within the hour" Krish announced, and we all nodded in agreement.

 3 hours later

"Finally, we're here" I murmured as I stepped out of the airport.

Although I tried to mask it, the fear of being on this land felt strange. It had taken so much from me, and I hadn't wanted to return, but circumstances had forced my hand. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself.

As we walked out of the airport, we spotted a middle-aged man holding a banner with all our names on it. We approached him.

"Welcome, everyone! I've been sent by Prince Aditya Singh Rathore to receive you" he said. We nodded in acknowledgment, and he helped us with our luggage, guiding us to the car.

"Wow, a black Mercedes-Benz Maybach!" Krish exclaimed, clearly impressed. He had an uncanny ability to identify cars just by looking at them.

" Prince Aditya Singh Rathore is waiting from a long time for you all , now , you all are the last hope for all of us , please save our Ranisa " the driver stated while driving the car as fast as he could.

" Don't worry , we'll try our best to save Ranisa " Ahana said , we all nodded and the rest of the ride went silent.

  At the hospital

"Welcome, all of you. This way, please" an older man in his fifties directed us as he led us toward the operating theater. The doctors from the hospital greeted us, and we convened for a brief meeting before the surgery. After about fifteen minutes, we returned to stand in front of the operating theater.

"You are thirty minutes late! How could you be? Where is your professionalism?" a voice thundered.

I turned to see a tall, muscular man, handsome and imposing, stride into the hall. He appeared to be in his late-twenties, with broad shoulders and biceps that strained against the fabric of his kurta, sleeves rolled up. His dark eyes bore into me, his expression cold and emotionless. Accompanying him were four tall, muscular men dressed in black suits—clearly his bodyguards. Then it hit me: he was the renowned business tycoon and prince of Udaipur—Mr. Aditya Singh Rathore.

"We apologize, but—" I started, but he cut me off.

"No excuses" he said, locking his gaze onto mine. His voice was as icy as his demeanor. I felt a surge of defensiveness rise within me.

"Wait a minute-?... We are doctors, not your servants to be bossed around" I replied boldly. He stepped closer, and my heart raced. I forced myself to maintain my composure, meeting his intense gaze with fierce determination.

"I know, but—" he began coldly, but I cut him off this time. Gasps echoed around the room as the tension and rage between us escalated.  Ahana placed her hand gently on my shoulder, trying to pull me back, but I wouldn't be silenced. I understood his frustration, but he had no right to belittle us or our profession.

"No, Mr. Aditya Singh Rathore," I declared firmly, locking eyes with him. "I apologize, but you should respect everyone who works for you, whether they are doctors or your servants."

His face flushed crimson with anger, veins bulging in his forehead and arms. I stood my ground, though a part of me trembled at the confrontation.

Just then, the same older man who had welcomed us stepped forward, lowering his head slightly. "I apologize, Doctor, on behalf of the Prince, but he is slightly upset and tensed" he said respectfully. I recognized him as Mr. Rathore's most trusted employee, having served his company for over thirty years, as Dr. Raghav had mentioned.

He may have been the great Prince Aditya Singh Rathore, the formidable business tycoon, but to me, he was nothing if he didn't know how to respect others and their professions.

I glanced at Mr. Choudhary, my expression softening as I took his hand in mine. "No, it's not your fault, Mr. Choudhary. Some people just think they own the world" I said quietly, lowering my voice. I sensed that Mr. Rathore had caught my words, his sharp gaze snapped toward me.

"Because I do" he replied.

In an attempt to ease the tension, Mr. Choudhary faked a cough, diverting our focus.

"Mr. Choudhary, we don't have time. Please show them the way" Mr. Rathore stated, his voice devoid of warmth. I exchanged glances with my teammates, who nodded in agreement, and together, we stepped into the operating theatre.

 Aditya's Pov

"What a rude and mannerless girl" I murmured under my breath, irritation bubbling within me. I turned away, my mood soured further by her audacity. No one had ever crossed their lines with me like that before. I sighed, looking at Mr. Choudhary, who wore a concerned expression.

"Prince, please take some rest. You haven't slept in the last five hours, and you haven't eaten anything in the past nine. You'll get sick like this" he said, his voice low . I took his hands in mine, my eyes softening.

"Mr. Choudhary, I won't go anywhere until I hear that she is fine. I appreciate your concern, but my heart won't allow me to leave her side" I replied sincerely.

"Mr. Choudhary, you must be tired too. You should eat something and get some rest" I insisted, feeling guilty for his dedication. He shook his head, refusing to leave. I called for my bodyguard and asked him to bring something for Mr. Choudhary to eat. When he returned with sandwiches and coffee, I handed them to him. He hesitated but eventually accepted, and I smiled faintly as I watched him eat.

"Son, I've eaten as you insisted, but I can't leave you alone like this" he said.

I pulled him into a tight embrace, grateful for his unwavering support. After a minute, I broke the hug.

"Thanks, Mr. Choudhary" I said genuinely, and he smiled, lightly patting my head. I returned his smile, appreciating the bond we shared.

   3 hours later

"The surgery was successful!" a nurse exclaimed as she exited the operating theatre. My eyes widened, and my heart began to race, sweat forming on my forehead as my lips trembled.

"R-Really?" My voice quivered as I looked at Mr. Choudhary and hugged him tightly. He embraced me back, and tears , finally, streamed down my cheeks. I quickly wiped them away and broke the hug, a bright, warm smile spreading across my face. Mr. Choudhary smiled back, his eyes glistening with joy.

"Sir, it's like a miracle. The doctors had already given up, but them... they brought our Ranisa back!" Mr. Choudhary said, his eyes filling with happy tears. I looked at him, feeling a swell of gratitude for the doctors. Indeed, they had done what seemed impossible while the Udaipur doctors had lost hope.

"I have to meet her. Now" I insisted, and Mr. Choudhary nodded. I could hardly believe the news. My heart raced wildly as I offered a silent prayer of thanks to Devi Maa for saving her.

Joy surged within me as the most important person in my life returned to me. Relief, excitement, and comfort coursed through every inch of my body. It felt like a heartwarming reunion that brought a sense of completeness and connection between me and my Dadisa. The deep bond we shared tightened around my heart, and I sighed in relief.

I moved toward the operating theatre just as the doctors began to exit one by one.

"Congratulations! The surgery was successful" the same girl I had clashed with earlier said, removing her mask. Our eyes locked for a fleeting moment before she looked away.

"Thank you so much, Dr. Suhani. Dr krish, Dr raghav...everyone...It means a lot to us" Mr. Choudhary said, stepping forward to thank her. So, her name was Suhani. I noted her features more closely this time, taking in the determination in her eyes.

"And your whole team too! Dr. Sharma spoke highly of you all" Mr. Choudhary added with a warm smile.

"Indeed, Dr. Suhani is the best. She has always been active and sincere in her work" Dr. Krish chimed in, and Dr. Suhani shook her head in denial.

"It's was our duty, sir. I couldn't have done anything without my team. We worked together to get the results" she explained, her expression earnest. "Ranisa's body wasn't responding to the treatment initially, so we considered what might help. We realized she needed some space, she felt suffocated. After giving her some time, her body began to respond, and thank God we did the right thing at the right moment. Her heart rate increased, which is why she fainted from excessive sugar intake. You can check the reports I've prepared for more details" she concluded, smiling softly.

Mr. Choudhary nodded, his admiration for her evident as he smiled back.

"Right now, she is unconscious. You can visit her once she wakes up; for now, let her rest" Dr. Suhani said, her smile fading as she looked at me. I nodded slightly, understanding her need for caution. With that, she and the other doctors left the room, leaving only Mr. Choudhary and me.He patted my shoulder lightly, offering a comforting presence. I turned to him and smiled, feeling a mix of gratitude and relief.

"Mr. Choudhary, please wait here. I'll be back" I said before walking toward the idol of Devi Maa. I joined my hands in prayer, my heart full of gratitude.

"Devi Maa, thank you so much for saving my Dadisa. You've brought my life back to me. Thank you for watching over her" I murmured, my voice sincere as I bowed my head in reverence.

Suhani's Pov

We all returned after changing our clothes, and as I walked down the hall. just as a nurse approached me. She greeted me warmly and handed me some papers to sign. I quickly read through them, signed, and watched as she left. My team members were busy chatting in the meeting room, but I decided to check on the Queen Mother to see if she had woken up yet. Just as I was about to head toward the operation theatre, I heard a hoarse, rough voice call out to me.

"Dr. Suhani Chauhan"

I turned around to see him—Mr. Rathore, standing before me. He towered over me, his eyes deeply locked onto mine, an apologetic expression on his face that revealed the guilt he felt.
"What I said earlier was just my frustration and anger. I was so tense" he stated, and I could sense the guilt in his voice. My eyes softened.

"It's alright" I replied, still not fully in the mood to forgive him, but understanding his situation.

He was worried, so I decided to let it go for now.

"Thanks for saving her. I owe you" he said, looking directly at me. I shook my head.

"It's my duty. it's really nothing" I replied just as Mr. Choudhary approached us.

"Dr. Suhani, you must be hungry. Come and have your dinner. We've arranged everything, and your team is already eating" Mr. Choudhary said, and I nodded.

"Ji, I'm coming" I replied, and he walked away.

"Excuse me" I said, and he nodded. I took my leave, heading toward the dining area, my stomach growling in protest from hunger.

As I approached the dining area, I heard a cacophony of voices echoing through the hospital. Confused, I turned to Mr. Choudhary. "What is this noise, Mr. Choudhary?" I asked, slightly bewildered.

"Press and media , they all gathered here so that they can cover the news of how Ranisa is doing now" He stated as if it was a very casual thing , I nodded my head.

"This Way , Dr Suhani" Mr Choudhary said while showing me the way , I nodded and followed him.

Aditya's Pov

"Hello, Mr. Sharma, the surgery was successful" I said over the phone, a wave of happiness washing over me.

"Congratulations, Mr. Aditya! I was just about to call you. Dr. Raghav informed me a while ago, he shared the wonderful news. I heard Dr. Suhani led the team. I've always believed she could be trusted. I've observed her for the past two years, and she consistently displays that attitude of never giving up. Today, that same determination made all the difference" he stated, pride evident in his voice. I nodded along.

"Yeah" I replied, realizing I might have reacted too quickly.

"Once again, congratulations, sir! If there's anything else I can do, please let me know," he added.

"Yeah, sure." I said before hanging up the call.
